There’s a moment on every healing path where we pull back.

We cancel the session. We skip the ritual. We stop doing the thing that was helping.
And then comes the shame spiral: “Why am I sabotaging myself?”

But what if that “resistance” isn’t sabotage at all?

What if it’s wisdom?

Not every pause is fear.
Some pauses are protection.

The nervous system is wise beyond language. It knows when something feels misaligned—even if the mind doesn’t.
And sometimes what we call “resistance” is actually a sacred signal that we’re moving too fast… or that the space we’re in no longer fits who we’re becoming.

The key is learning to discern:

Resistance often feels like:

  • Tightness or anxiety in the chest
  • Procrastination with guilt
  • Looping thoughts like “I should” or “What’s wrong with me?”
  • Internal pressure without clarity

Wisdom often feels like:

  • Stillness without urgency
  • A quiet but steady no
  • A desire for deeper alignment
  • An inner voice that says “Not now. Not this way.”

If you find yourself pulling back, pause.
Ask gently:

  • Am I afraid to be seen—or is this not right for me anymore?
  • Is my body contracting… or conserving?
  • What would honoring look like here?

The more you ask, the more you’ll learn to tell the difference.
And over time, your “no” becomes not a wall—but a compass.

You don’t have to push through everything.
You get to listen.
