Do I need special equipment?
Just a device with Zoom, a comfortable place to lie down, and headphones (recommended but not required). Dorothy provides the sound — you just receive it.

I discovered sound therapy and Dorothy’s work with it nine months ago. It was around Valentine’s Day and she did a sound bath for a health-related program I was in. The class she did was on the topic of love/self-love. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I didn’t feel much physically during it, but I enjoyed listening.
The next morning I woke up and it felt like something had unlocked in my heart. I felt a lightness inside of my chest, as though a weight had been removed. I felt full of energy and vitality, and overwhelmed with love and appreciation for my body and my life. A dam of despair and trauma inside of me had broken. I felt overcome with joy.
I got up, got dressed, and drove myself on 4 hour round trip to worship in one of the temples of my religious faith, after being unable to drive more than short distances without fatigue for years.
I knew I had found something really special.
I looked forward every month to Dorothy’s classes in that program, and in coming months was blessed to find her website and the wealth of recordings and wisdom she has there.
I had spent more than a year doing other kinds of meditation before I found Dorothy’s work. I find that with her recordings and classes, I can effectively and quickly enter the coherent, healing brain states that I used to struggle over an hour sometimes to get to before when meditating.
The sound is also a gentle way for me tone my vagus nerve, as the lack of function I had with it had led to more than a dozen chronic illnesses, including severe depression, anxiety, autoimmune issues, CFS and other forms of dysautonomia.
My body wasn’t very tolerant of other ways I tried to do this, as my vagus nerve tone was very poor. I saw steady improvement in my body’s capacity to handle stress as I listened to her recordings, without the kickback and symptoms I would get when I tried to do that with other methods.
I quickly learned about how sound can help heal other physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual issues.
Her website became a powerful tool and ally to me as I worked to get off of several prescription medications I had been on for many years. The sound helped me tolerate some of the withdrawal symptoms and the process went miraculously smoothly for me over a much shorter time period that I had planned. I was even able to stop consuming caffeine without the migraines I had suffered in the past when I had attempted it before.
The more I listen, the more the sound seems to help me. I will feel the different frequencies up and down my spine, in my throat and in my head. I will feel energy move to my hands and feet and out of me. Many times, it feels like a gentle massage from the inside and is incredibly soothing.
I especially enjoy the lower, grounding frequencies to help me manage overwhelm and anxiety. Many times, the deep vibrations of those sound bowls will help me feel a deep sense of trust in the world and in God that I had lost over the years, which empowered me pursue things I love that I had been afraid to in the past.
I wish more people who are trying to heal from any adverse condition knew about sound therapy, Dorothy’s work and her website. To me it is by far one of the most effective interventions I have used on my healing journey, and I am so grateful for her sharing it with people like me.
